SAU TAKES DOWN HENDERSON
SAU Men's and Women's Basketball played their hearts out last night against Henderson.
The women's game was so energetic. The score was going back and forth for the majority of the game. The game concluded in a Mulerider win with a score of 61-55.
Stats of the game:
Southern Arkansas earned its 21st win over the Reddies in the NCAA era. While the point totals for SAU are not what the 'Riders have been accustomed to this season, the defense balled out and stuck through to the very end. The top turnover-forcing team in the land showed out once more as they recorded 28 forced turnovers and 16 steals as a team. SAU cashed in 22 points off of those 28 turnovers which accounted for 36% of the Mulerider's points on the night
The men's game started off not looking too hot. Being up to 20 points behind in the first half, but made a major turnaround in the second half. They pushed and fought hard in the second half and caught back up. The final score was 67-66 for a Mulerider win.
Stats of the game:
In the final 18 minutes, the Muleriders outscored the Reddies inside 24-14, finished +7 in second-chance points, +5 in points off turnovers, and connected on a dozen of its 15 attempts from the charity stripe Ray's go-ahead in the final ten seconds.
