Since the suspect's arrest in the cold case of the Gilgo Beach serial killings, a plethora of evidence has surfaced, according to the DA.

Investigators have received a flood of evidence and information related to the suspect charged in some of the Gilgo Beach killings since his arrest Thursday, the Suffolk County District Attorney told CNN on Monday."

Ray Tierney stated on "CNN This Morning" that "we feel we can prove these three murders."

Following his arrest, Rex Heuermann,59, was charged with murder in connection with the deaths of three of the "Gilgo Four," a group of women whose bodies were discovered in 2010 close to Gilgo Beach on Long Island. In relation to the murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello, he has entered a not guilty plea.

According to a bail request from prosecutors, he is also the main suspect in the 2007 disappearance and murder of the fourth woman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, even though he has not yet been charged in the case. Tierney stated, "We're also confident that we'll be able to charge that fourth murder eventually."

During his intake at the jail following his arrest last week, Heuermann, an architect, asked only one question, an informed source told CNN: "Is it in the news?"

He has been put on suicide watch ever since he arrived at the jail, Vicki DiStefano, a Suffolk County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, told CNN. DiStefano stated that the medical staff of the Suffolk County jail made the decision, not the sheriff's office, and that situations similar to Heuermann's are not unusual.
